On June 26, 1987, a small twin-engine plane crashed on Lonsdale Street and ignited a 9-alarm fire at multiple homes.
Thanks to the quick-acting members of the Boston Fire Department, the fire was contained and the neighborhood was saved.
You can read more details of this fire and the impact it had on the community here in an article in the Globe by Emily Sweeney.
