Be a part of it!
This Sunday, May 11, Dorchester’s Town Field will once again be the starting point for the 29th Annual Mother’s Day Walk for Peace, a cherished Boston tradition organized by the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute. The event begins with an opening program at 8:00 AM and a 3.2-mile walk at 9:00 AM, honoring lives lost to violence and promoting healing within our communities.
This year’s theme, “Cultivating Cycles of Peace,” emphasizes the power of community in breaking the cycles of violence. The walk serves as the Institute’s largest fundraiser, aiming to raise $600,000 to support survivors, returning citizens, and youth initiatives.
Participants can enjoy free parking at designated lots on Geneva Avenue and Charles Street, with Town Field conveniently located near the MBTA Red Line’s Fields Corner stop.
