At about 7:50 PM on Monday July 5, 2021, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 19 Olney Street in Dorchester.

While enroute, 911 operations broadcast the description of the suspect to be a black female in her early twenties, wearing a scarf on her head and carrying a fanny pack.  Upon arrival, officer located the suspect, later identified as Tahjae Singleton, 23, of Dorchester walking on Onley Street towards Bowdoin Street.

Due to the nature of the call and for public safety, officers conducted pat frisk of the “fanny pack” and recovered a loaded Taurus .357 Magnum Revolver with five live rounds in the chamber and one spent round in the chamber.

Tahjae Singleton was arrested and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. She is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
