Probably no surprise to anyone driving or traveling in the area of Mass. Ave and Melnea Cass Blvd., but BPD made two arrests at about 2:30am on Wednesday for drug related crimes. After receiving several 911 calls from the community, BPD then observed the crime in action. See report below:

At about 2:30 AM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, members of the C-6 Drug Control Unit (South Boston) and officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made two onsite drug arrests in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard in Boston.
Due to multiple 911 calls and community complaints, officers were on directed patrol in the above area when they observed an unidentified male pass an item to another male. Officers continued their surveillance of the male who took the item and handed it off to a female. Officers approached the male who appeared to be counting multiple bags containing a brown substance believed to be heroin. At this time, officers attempted to take the male into custody. The male began to throw the plastic bags and continued to struggle with officers. Officers were able to placed the male under arrest. Concurrently, officers observed the female return to the area and attempt to pick up the bags which the male had thrown. Officers then placed the female under arrest. Officers recovered multiple small plastic bags containing substances believed to be heroin and crack cocaine.
The male, identified as Rigoberto Villalona, 36-years-old of Dorchester and the female, identified as Crystal Andrade, 35-years-old, of Boston, were both placed under arrest. Villalona is charged with Distribution of Class A Drugs and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drugs. Andrade is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drugs and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws. Both are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
