About 1:21 AM, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), conducted a traffic stop in the area of Columbia Road and Oldfields Road in Dorchester that resulted in an onsite firearm arrest of Jakai Jackman, 18, of Dedham, MA.
While on patrol in the area, officers observed a motor vehicle with a revoked registration. Officers activated their lights and sirens to conduct the traffic stop. As a result of the traffic stop, officers made contact with the driver, later identified as Jakai Jackman and recovered a loaded firearm from the motor vehicle.
The firearm was determined to be a Glock 26, 9MM with one round in the chamber and thirty-one rounds in the magazine. Jakai Jackman was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
