At about 1:02 AM, on Friday, August 23, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male, on firearm charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Glenway Street and Erie Street when they observed a motor vehicle with excessive window tint. Officers began to follow the vehicle, and observed it abruptly pull to the side of the road at the intersection of Kingsdale Street and Bernard Street. At this time, officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers observed that the vehicle’s inspection sticker was rejected, and determined that the inspection sticker did not belong to that vehicle.
After further investigation, the occupants were requested to exit the vehicle. As officers conducted a pat frisk of the passenger, they recovered a firearm from a fanny pack that he was carrying. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 29 with fifteen rounds in the magazine. The operator was promptly released from the scene.
The 17-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and charged with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
