The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office identified the victim of Sunday night’s shooting on Lyndhurst Street as Jucelena Gomes.
BPD found Gomes with apparent gunshot wounds. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
“The loss of a loved one to violence is one of the most traumatic events an individual and family can ever experience. The murder of a child, who has not yet had the opportunity to grow and achieve, is a unique kind of pain.” the District Attorney’s Office said via the statement.
There were also two male victims in the incident who suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. According to the DA’s office one of those victims is also a teenager.
This is still a BPD active investigation.
