One Less Gun: At about 8:10 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2020, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 56 Dunbar Avenue (Roberts Playground) in Dorchester. Responding officers were updated with a description of the suspect who was believed to be in possession of a firearm and allegedly threatened to shoot the caller. Officers observed a male matching the description of the suspect on Walton Street. The officer continued to monitor the male who was standing in a small group with four other males. Upon seeing the officer stop his vehicle, the male suspect became visibly startled and began walking away from the group. The officer exited his cruiser and approached the group with the assistance of additional responding units. At this time, the male grabbed an apparent item inside of his sweatshirt pocket. Officers observed the item to be a silver firearm. Officers ordered the male to show his hands to which he complied. Officers secured the firearm and placed the suspect in custody. The firearm was determined to be a Taurus .38 caliber firearm loaded with two rounds of live ammunition. The additional four males were identified and released from the scene.

Officers arrested a 14-year-old male of Dorchester. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Delinquent to wit: Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
