11 Loaded Firearms Recovered on Saturday throughout the Day

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Boston Police officers recovered a total of 11 loaded firearms from various incidents throughout the day. These recoveries were part of the department’s ongoing efforts to reduce gun violence and enhance public safety in Boston’s neighborhoods.

Below is a detailed summary of the arrests and firearm seizures that took place during the day:

– About 10:00 AM, officers observed a group of individuals who they arrested in the past for multiple firearm violations. Officers conversed with the group and observed multiple individuals walking away from officers.

One of the individuals was extremely hypervigilant of officers’ presence, and was quickly walking through the crowd. The individual jumped one of the metal barriers and was walking towards Ellington Street. As officers were following the individual, he turned around and took off in a full sprint.

A foot pursuit ensued, and the suspect was seen pinning his right hand to his waistband. The suspect slowed down and lowered his body behind a parked vehicle. Officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs, and recovered a firearm. The firearm was a KelTec PMR-30 with one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine.

Xavier Mabine, 21, of Dorchester, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

  • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm without an FID card
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID card

– About 1:00 PM, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) observed a male dressed in all black, with an abnormal outline and bulge in his waistband. The individual was seen multiple times readjusting his pants and shirt. Due to the large crowds, officers lost sight of the individual.

About 4:45 PM, officers observed the individual again in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Supply Road. Officers attempted to stop him, and a violent struggle ensued. The suspect continued to hold his waistband and continued to resist.

Officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs, and recovered a firearm from his waistband. The firearm was determined to be a Girsan MC28 SA with one round in the chamber and eleven rounds in the magazine. The firearm’s serial number was also obliterated.

15-year-old Juvenile male was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court for the following charges:

  • Delinquent to wit; Resist Arrest
  • Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  • Delinquent to wit; Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm

 

– About 1:31 PM, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) observed a group of individuals sitting on the steps of 48 Pasadena Road as if they were waiting for someone. As officers began speaking with the group, observations were made of one male hunched over, and guarding his waistband.

After further investigation, officers conducted a pat frisk of the individuals, but one male refused to comply. Multiple officers had to restrain the suspect and immediately felt the handle of a firearm from the front of his waistband. The recovered firearm was a Polymer 80 with a laser sight attachment, and one round in the chamber with twenty-eight rounds in an extended magazine.

Simultaneously, a second suspect attempted to push past officers and flee the area. Officers were able to pin the suspect, and recovered a firearm from his waistband. The firearm was determined to be a Glock 9mm with one round in the chamber and twelve rounds in a magazine capable of holding seventeen total rounds.

It was later determined that none of the group members were residents of the address or knew anyone that lived there, therefore they were all trespassing on the steps.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

Terrel Stokes, 18, of Dorchester:

  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device

Damontay Brown, 19, of Berkley:

  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID card

 

– About 5:00 PM, officers assigned to the Caribbean Festival responded to the area of Seaver Street towards Erie Street to assist in stopping an individual.

As officers were walking down Hewins Street from Columbia Road, they observed a juvenile male dressed in all black and carrying a backpack walking at a hurried pace towards Erie Street. The individual was seen walking towards the rear of 8 Hewins Street, but officers lost sight of him. The individual was shortly after seen walking up Hewins Street without a backpack, and was able to flee the area.

The backpack was located by an individual and handed to officers which contained two firearms. The first firearm was a Glock 20 with one round in the chamber and twenty-seven rounds in a magazine capable of holding thirty-three total rounds. The firearm was equipped with a laser, flashlight and a switch which allows the firearm to be fully automatic.

The second firearm was a Glock 30 with twelve rounds in a magazine capable of holding thirteen rounds, which was also equipped with a switch that allowed the capability of it being fully automatic.

– About 5:10 PM, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force observed a large group sitting in the woods in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Seaver Street. As officers approached the group, one of the individuals alerted the group of officers’ presence, and the group fled the area.

An individual was seen to have a large bulge under his sweatshirt near the left side of his waist. The unknown male continued to walk further away from officers, and jumped down from a wall onto the street. As the male landed, officers could see a cross-body bag underneath his sweatshirt.

The male attempted to walk away, but officers were quickly able to stop him. A pat frisk was conducted and a firearm was recovered from the crossbody bag. The recovered firearm was a Sig Sauer P938 with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine. The firearm was also determined to have been stolen.

Rodney Dooley-Blue, 20, of Roxbury, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court for the following offenses:

  • Receiving Stolen Property Under $1,200
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm

 

– About 5:20 PM, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, while assigned to the Caribbean Carnival Festival, observed an individual grabbing an unknown object in his waistband. Officers observed the individual engage in an argument with two unknown parties.

Officers began to approach the individual and he immediately ran down Columbia Road towards Seaver Street. The suspect was seen clutching his waistband, and ran behind 354 Seaver Street before exiting back onto the street where he was stopped.

A discarded firearm was recovered from the rear of the address. Detectives responded and determined the firearm to be a Glock 19 with twenty-three rounds in the magazine.

Corey Robinson, 22, of Boston, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition

 

– About 5:27 PM, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force observed a vehicle parked illegally in front of 632 Blue Hill Avenue with a group of males around it. As officers approached the group, one male took notice of their presence and began to walk away.

The male was seen wearing a backpack and now positioned himself against the vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a pat frisk, and the suspect turned his body in an attempt to flee. The suspect began to resist officers, and a crowd surrounded the officers.

Various officers working the festival assisted with controlling the suspect as he continued to flail his body. The suspect was placed into handcuffs, and a firearm was recovered from his backpack. The firearm was determined to be a Smith & Wesson M&P M2 with fifteen rounds in the magazine.

16-year-old Juvenile Male was placed under arrest and is expected to be around Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

  • Delinquent to wit; Resist Arrest
  • Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Delinquent to wit; Possession of a High-Capacity Firearm
  • Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a Licenses
  • Delinquent to wit; Possession of Ammunition without an FID card

 

– About 5:52 PM, officers assigned to Districts B-3 (Mattapan) and B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Charolette Street for a report of a person with a gun. Officers broadcasted a description of a group and the alleged suspect fleeing on McLellan Street.

Officers at Bicknell Street and Bradshaw Street observed an individual matching the description. Officers exited their cruisers, and began to approach the group. As officers got closer, one of the males broke away from the group and walked in between two parked cars to make his way onto the sidewalk.

Officers closed in on the suspect who now attempted to run, but was quickly apprehended. The suspect began to resist, and responding officers assisted with securing him in handcuffs. Officers recovered a firearm from the suspect’s crossbody bag, and it was determined to be a CZ 75 D with seven rounds in the magazine.

Leland Murray, 18, of Winthrop, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:

  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License

 

– About 7:55 PM, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) were monitoring a large crowd in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Westview Street. Boston Police Operations dispatched a radio call for a person with a gun inside of Harambee Park by the basketball courts.

At this time, officers heard multiple gunshots and observed the suspect discharge a firearm. Officers ordered the suspect to drop the gun, which he did not comply with and attempted to flee on a moped which did not start.

The suspect attempted to run, and a firearm fell to the ground from his waistband. Officers quickly handcuff the suspect, and were immediately advised of a person shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

District B-3 Detectives responded and processed the crime scene. The recovered firearm was a Glock 26 with one spent shell casing in the chamber and four rounds in an extended magazine that was capable of holding twenty-four total rounds.

15-year-old Juvenile male was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:

  • Delinquent to wit; Assault and Battery with a Firearm
  • Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm
  • Delinquent to wit; Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Delinquent to wit; Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
