Red Line Commuters, brace yourselves. This weekend, January 25-26, the MBTA is shutting down service between JFK/UMass and Braintree for some much-needed signal upgrades. That means shuttle buses will be replacing trains, so plan accordingly (and maybe pack some extra patience).

The silver lining? The Middleborough, Kingston, and Greenbush commuter rail lines will be FREE between Braintree, Quincy Center, JFK/UMass, and South Station, so if you’re looking to avoid the shuttle shuffle, hop on the Commuter Rail instead.
