Boston Fire Aerial Drill Team Returns for Fire Prevention Week

One of Boston’s coolest Fire Prevention Week traditions is back! The Boston Fire Department Aerial Drill Team will be performing across the city this week, including three stops right here in Dot. Made up of Boston firefighters, the Aerial Drill Team performs impressive high-altitude rope and ladder maneuvers that showcase the skill, strength, teamwork, and trust required on the job. The tradition dates back decades and returned in 2024 after a roughly 20-year hiatus. The team will perform around Boston during the week:

• Friday, October 9: TechBoston Academy, Dorchester — 9:45am
• Friday, October 9: Ohrenberger Elementary, West Roxbury — 12:15pm
• Saturday, October 10: Castle Island/Fort Independence — 11am
• Sunday, October 11: Florian Hall for the Local 718 10K — 10:30am

Words as Worlds All Weekend

Sip, Sculpt + Shop on the Neponset River Trail with Align with Aidan

Start your Sunday with a workout, coffee, and a little shopping! Align with Aidan is hosting Sip, Sculpt + Shop on Monday, October 12th, along the Neponset River Trail, with classes at 10am and 11am. The event features a 45-minute sculpt fusion class followed by 50% off coffee from Espresso East, goodies, and shopping from local brands. Just bring your own mat and get ready to move! Blend has a packed weekend lined up. Kick things off Friday, October 8th at 7pm with a Scream watch party, then stick around for Friday Feels: Queens Night at 10pm, 21+ and no cover. Participate in the 44th Annual Boston Firefighters 10K Road Race

The 44th Annual Boston Firefighters 10K Road Race returns to Dorchester and Florian Hall on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 9:00am! The annual event brings together participants from all walks of life to celebrate fitness, camaraderie, and support for the brave men and women of the Boston Fire Department. Set against the backdrop of the historic city, this race offers a scenic, challenging course winding through Dorchester.
