BPD Scooter Enforcement Operation Leads to Three Arrests, 12 Mopeds Towed Near Caribbean Carnival
On Saturday, August 29, 2026, officers assigned to the Scooter Interdiction Team conducted a targeted enforcement operation focused on scooters and mopeds. The initiative was organized in response to ongoing public safety concerns regarding the use of these vehicles in the Dorchester and Roxbury neighborhoods.
As a result of this operation, officers arrested three individuals, issued summonses for three individuals, and towed twelve mopeds for violations of the auto laws in the immediate vicinity of the Caribbean Carnival Parade route in an effort to ensure attendees would not be at risk of the unsafe and reckless operation of these vehicles.
The Boston Police Department remains committed to improving traffic safety and will continue to conduct enforcement operations across the city.
