Boston Police Tow 31 Scooters During Dorchester Crackdown

Boston Police are continuing to crack down on illegal scooters and mopeds across the city.
According to the Boston Globe, police towed 31 scooters in Dorchester on Tuesday and summoned 12 people to court as part of an ongoing enforcement effort known as “Operation Kickstand.”
Police said the scooters were involved in motor vehicle violations in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street. Owners were cited for violations including operating a motorcycle without a license and operating an unregistered motorcycle.
The latest crackdown comes after complaints from residents in Dorchester and Roxbury about scooters and mopeds. Police have been conducting similar enforcement efforts across Boston in recent months, including towing 18 mopeds in Hyde Park last week.

Every flywing 150 gas powered scooter should be ticketed if in the bike lanes. It’s illegal for any gas powered bike or scooter over 49cc to use these lanes. Laws are here. They just need enforcement.
