Meet Dorchester’s New Mayor Katie Nolan
There’s a new mayor in town! Meet Katie Nolan, Mayor of Dorchester 2026!
The organizers of the Dorchester Day Parade announced the winner on Tuesday night via social media:
For those unfamiliar, the title of Mayor of Dorchester isn’t about politics—it’s about pride, community, and some good old-fashioned fundraising. Candidates throw their hats in the ring, and every dollar they raise counts as a vote. The one with the most votes (aka the most funds raised) wins the prestigious title and gets the honor of leading the Dot Day Parade down Dorchester Avenue in June.
So, what does it take to run? A love for Dorchester, must be a Dorchester resident, a knack for rallying support, and a solid game plan to bring in donations.

I cannot thank everyone enough for all their support, donations, time and energy that was put into our run for Mayor. Grateful to be from the best community in the world! Can’t wait to see everyone on Dot Ave June 7th…clear your calendars!
A big congrats to @sullyfordotmayor @lele02124 & @msshirleydotmayor on a fun and competitive campaign run! Together we all raised over $36k that will all go directly back to @dot_parade something we should all be very proud of!
Nolan is Dorchester native and raised money for the parade through a variety of fundraising including selling t-shirts, musical bingo, raffles and more!
