Snow Emergency Declared in Boston
Snow is on the way and the City of Boston has declared a Snow Emergency, a Parking Ban, and No School on Monday. You can get all the details here.
Winter Bird Stroll at Castle Island – Save the Date
Calling all bird lovers! Take a winter bird stroll at Castle Island with Nature Man Mike on Sunday, February 7th from 8:30am-10:30am. Winter is a great time to see various migratory waterfowl at Castle Island. It’s one of Mike’s favortie spots for winter birding in Boston! Expect to walk up to 2 miles on paved paths. Dress warm. It can be very cold and windy during this time. This event is accessible. Porta potties are available. Limited loaner binoculars will be available on a first come, first served basis. This is a free event, but registration is required. You can register here.
Dorchester Winter Farmers Market
Organized by the Codman Square Health Center, BOLD Teens, and the Codman Square Neighborhood Council, the Dorchester Winter Farmers Market is the only winter market in Dorchester and is a great place to buy farm fresh produce, baked goods, meat, specialty foods from local producers, art, and craft items. January 24th – March 14th on Saturdays from 11 am – 2 pm at The Great Hall (6 Norfolk St. Dorchester, MA 02124) You can learn more here.
New BlueBikes Station in Dorchester
New station, new adventures! The 135 Morrissey Blvd station is now open. 🚲 This 19 dock station is near a handful of interesting spots to explore. Hit the Neponset Greenway Trail’s Northern Extension, visit the JFK Library on the waterfront, or explore Savin Hill and much more—all by bike.
Dorchester Lacrosse Registration Now Open
Dorchester Lacrosse is getting ready for Spring. Registration is now open for travel lacrosse grades 1-8th and Little Laxers Pre-K – K2. You can learn more here!
