Holiday and Package Delivery Safety Tips from the Boston Police Department

Holiday Safety Tips from the Boston Police Department

In an effort to make this holiday season as safe as possible, BPD has created a list of holiday safety tips for you and your family.

Take a peek at the text below from Boston Police:

Expecting a delivery? Be home when it arrives, or ask a trusted neighbor to secure it for you. Consider using secure options like delivery lockers or scheduled drop-offs.

Don’t leave packages outside for long. The longer they’re out, the more time thieves have to notice them.

A doorbell camera or security system can help you keep an eye on deliveries and notify you when packages arrive.

Always track your deliveries, and report any lost or stolen packages to the shipping company immediately.

Shopping in stores? Keep wallets and purses secure, and avoid leaving valuables in plain sight in your car.

Buying, selling, or exchanging items? Use a Boston Police Safe Exchange Zone at any of our District Stations. These monitored locations are a safe place to meet.

Notice suspicious activity in your neighborhood? Don’t hesitate to call us. BPD is here to help ensure everyone has a safe and joyful holiday.
