Watch the USS Constitution make a turnaround on Friday, October 19th! She’ll be getting underway from Charlestown at 10am to celebrate the Constitution’s 221st birthday and the U.S. Navy’s 243rd birthday! The ship will travel to Fort Independence where she’ll be firing off a 21 gun salute around 11:30am. Continue the celebration and order up a little lunch from Sullivan’s! How does a cheeseburger or a chili dogs sound?

Do:
Things are getting spooky at St. Brendan’s Halloween Party on Saturday, October 20th from 12pm-3pm. There will be games, snacks and a monster mash with DJ Gerard! The fun takes at St. Brendan’s Hall.

Lots of sports happening this weekend! The Bruins play the Canucks on Saturday night at 10pm. The Celtics face the Raptors Friday night at 8pm and then the Knicks on Saturday at 7:30pm. The Pats go head to head with the Bears on Sunday at 1pm. Fingers crossed we don’t need a game six for ALCS – if needed the Red Sox play the Astros Saturday at 5:09pm and Sunday at 7:39pm for a game 7. Head to the Harp+Bard to watch! This local favorite is a perfect spot to watch the Pats! Delicious pizza, honey bbq wings and nachos are delicious additions to game watching. The Harp + Bard also has Keno so bonus!

Volunteer:
On Sunday, October 21st head to the IBEW – 256 Freeport Street, from 11-2 pm for the Martin Richard Foundation Autumn Service Day! It’s a great opportunity to come together as a community and serve others! It’s a family-friendly event that features hands-on service activities, food, and live music. The day will include 3 shifts of hands-on service activities. You will be assigned to a team and will rotate through 3 service stations while learning about our partnering organizations and the populations that they serve. At each service station, your group will be split to cover the activities available. Get more details here!

Run, Walk and Roll! Register for the DAV 5K on November 10th at Castle Island for the 3rd annual DAV 5K. The DAV 5K is an event that thanks and honors those who served and raises awareness of the issues our ill and injured veterans face every day. You can register here!

Goodbye:
We love goats! The Dorchester goats are ending their season in Dot Park on October 21!  Friend and neighborhood are invited to say goodbye as they are paraded around and into their trailer for the ride back tot the barn!   Gather in the small ball field on Adams Street at 12:45 to say goodbye. The goats will be learning at 1pm.  You can help support the goats for next season by purchasing these adorable hand painted ornaments at Cedar Grove Gardens  Each one is slightly different and cost $10  All proceeds go directly to fund the goats return next year!

Free Moms Workout in Southie:
Enjoy a free moms workout on Sunday, October 21st at 11am at Dorchester Heights in Southie! The instructors of Boston Naps– Coe, Heidi, and Kayla – will lead this class that includes cardio, strength and core workouts and a yoga cool-down.This class is open to expecting mamas or mamas with babies/kids (feel free to wear your baby or bring your stroller) Meet at Dorchester Heights at the Thomas Park Entrance across from Pacific Street.
