A five-alarm fire ripped through a three-decker on Allston Street in Dorchester.  Nearly 100 firefighters battled the blaze in freezing cold conditions on Saturday night around 10pm at 7 Allston Street and then 5 Allston Street.

One firefighter was taken to an area hospital.  $1.5 million is estimated in damages.  14 residents have been displaced.  Mayor Marty Walsh was on scene to meet with residents and first responders.

Be safe, Dot!  Thank you BFD!

Hi there – I notice that there have been a number of accidents lately and would love to do anything I can to help out the families. Is there any chance you might be able to find out things this family (or others that have recently been impacted by fires) might need and where we can bring them? Food, clothes, furniture, etc? Thank you!
