About Lunar New Year:
Lunar New Year is one of the most important events in Asian culture and is celebrated around the world. Every year the holiday lands on a different day, this year it will be Friday, February 16th, celebrating the Year of the Dog. In Vietnamese speaking households the holiday is referred to as Tết Nguyên Đán, often shortened as Tet,  and often overlapping community celebrations happen all month.  In Fields Corner there are many Asian restaurants and a preponderance of Vietnamese establishments so it is very common to see lion dances and celebrations all along Dot Ave during the Lunar New Year period!  So be on the look out!

Special thank you to Fields Corner Main Streets for sharing this info with us!
