Big changes coming Port Norfolk’s way!  The large-scale development project is currently under community review so now is the time to share your thoughts, concerns, and ideas!  Here are the details below:

Neponset Wharf is a proposed waterfront, mixed-use development overlooking Boston Harbor from Dorchester’s Port Norfolk neighborhood. It will include 110 condominium residences and a state-of-the-art marina. The development will consist of four main buildings (including a boathouse) with mixed heights, constructed on a 7.6-acre site home to the existing MarineMax Russo boat sales facility and marina; 3.6 acres of the site are land, with 4 remaining acres under water.

The existing marina and boat slips will be updated and improved while maintaining historic integrity. A new marina support building will provide bait, tackle, ice, fuel and other essential boating supplies. New parking facilities will be constructed on site with capacity for 170 cars and 120 bicycles. Parking will be available for both residents and the public.

As part of the Neponset Wharf development, new waterfront outdoor spaces and facilities will be created for residential and public use, including the upgraded marina, a boathouse, a continuation of the Boston Harborwalk, and enhanced public access to the Boston Waterfront. New water transportation links could be created as well.

Construction of Neponset Wharf is expected to last approximately 18 months, potentially commencing in Fall 2018 with completion expected in Spring 2020.
