The end of 2017 brought big changes to the South Bay Plaza with the additional of a Nike, Wahlburgers (opening soon), Ulta and a 12 screen AMC movie theater. 2018 promises more restaurants, shops, and residences. Speaking of a night out, what better time than the new year to expand your pallet. DOT is a gold mine for all kinds of cuisine. Stop by Yellow Door Taqueria for authentic SOCAL tacos and ceviche; check out Shanti for some authentic Indian dishes including Chicken Tikka and fresh baked Naan. Or head over to Pho Hoa for a wide variety of Vietnamese specialties. 2018 is looking pretty delicious right about now!

Home.stead bakery & cafe is hosting another night of True Stories Told Live! Now Listen Here is a Dorchester-based, live storytelling series, with emphasis on including anyone who wants to tell a story! Prepare a 5-minute, true story and place your name in the hat! No notes, no props, just you and your story. Featured storyteller this month is Julie Baker and the theme is NOT SO FAST! Fun takes place on Friday, January 19th! Doors open at 7:30, Music at 7:45, Stories at 8:00 Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here!
Try Yoga Nidra! Open Door Studios is hosting a Yoga Nidra workshop! This workshop will begin with a simple and brief overview of what yoga nidra is, and why we practice it. From there, breath work, light stretching, and a calming restorative practice complete with essential oils, hands on assists, and reiki, will prepare you for Yoga Nidra. All you have to do is relax and listen while tensions of the mind and body are released. The soothing sounds of a chakra drum and gong will close the practice, leaving you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and renewed. For ALL levels, no yoga experience is required. Wear comfortable clothing. Cost $30. Limit 12 Students.
